Base your purchase by what is described above. DescriptionUp to 8Mbps Speed The DSL-300G features G.dmt modulation for speeds of up to 8Mbps downstream and 832Kbps upstream. G.lite is also supported, allowing up to 1.5Mbps downstream and 512Kbps upstream. G.lite is sufficient for most Internet applications today, and has the advantage of not requiring the installation of a splitter at the subscriber end. The modem auto-senses the connection type and auto-negotiates the best modulation scheme, G.dmt or G.lite using the G.hs (handshake) protocol. Uses Existing Telephone Line Your ADSL modem operates over the existing telephone wire and does not require new transmission media such as fiber-optic cabling. The DSL-300G makes possible high-speed multimedia services, Internet access, and video conferencing for you, using a standard copper phone line.Always-on, Dedicated Bandwidth ADSL service, once installed, is always on. There is no need to dial the ISP or corporate LAN at the other end. Unlike traditional analog and cable modems, ADSL does not use shared bandwidth, a phenomenon that reduces connection speed as more users get on-line. With ADSL, the entire bandwidth is dedicated to a single connection. Maximum Utilization of Resources Regular telephone service uses only a tiny portion of the actual capacity of a conventional telephone line, while ADSL uses the remaining bandwidth for high-speed data transfer. This is accomplished by setting different frequency channels for different functions, so that voice communication occurs at the lower end of the frequency spectrum, while data transmission takes place at higher frequencies. The DSL-300G makes possible simultaneous voice and data transmission. It also lets you download lengthy documents and graphics files quickly.10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet Interface DSL-300G connects to your PC, server, Internet gateway or other hosts through a 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet interface, which is commonly found in most computer equipment today. The DSL-300G connects to the host by auto-sensing its Ethernet interface and auto-negotiating for highest available speed.Easy Installation Easy configuration is provided through a web-based utility. Management compatibility is also provided with built-in MIBs for SNMP management from any third-party platform.
